As we continue to grow in England, we are looking for a skilled Contracts Manager/Supervisor to join our dynamic team covering Northeast England

Job Description:

As a Contracts Manager/Supervisor at Kirkwood Timber Frame, you will play a critical role in overseeing the delivery of projects from contract award through to completion. You will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This position requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Key responsibilities:

  • Contract Management: Oversee the execution of contracts, ensuring compliance with construction drawings, managing sub-contractors, and resolving / reporting any contract variations

  • Site Health & Safety: Promote and enforce the safe working practices on site.

  • Project Coordination: Work closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery, from initial planning to final handover. Creating construction programmes and monitoring progress

  • Budget Control: Monitor project budgets, manage costs, and ensure financial efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all projects meet the company’s quality standards, conducting regular site visits and inspections

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring that projects are completed safely and effectively. Compiling job specific RAMS documents and ensuring sub-contractors’ adherence

  • Client Liaison: Maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any concerns and ensuring their satisfaction with our services

Required:

  • Proven experience as a Contracts Manager in the construction or timber frame industry

  • Excellent understanding of timber frame detailing, timber frame construction methods and project management skills within the timber frame sector

  • Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) or equivalent

  • Appointed Person: Lifting Operations (Preferred however training can be provided)

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to lead and motivate teams, with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement

  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as required
