As we continue to grow, we are looking for a skilled and passionate Timber Frame Design Technician to join our dynamic team.

Job Description:

As a Timber Frame Design Technician, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of our timber frame structures. You will work closely with architects, engineers, and production teams to create detailed and accurate designs that meet both client specifications and regulatory standards. Your expertise in CAD software and knowledge of timber construction techniques will be essential in delivering high-quality, buildable designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD designs for timber frame structures, including floor plans, elevations, and construction details

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and meet all necessary regulations and building regulations

  • Prepare material take-offs and assist in the procurement process

  • Review and revise designs based on feedback from stakeholders

  • Support the production team by providing clear and accurate construction drawings

  • Ensure all designs are optimized for energy efficiency and sustainability

  • Stay updated with industry trends, materials, and construction techniques to continuously improve design quality

Required:

  • Proven experience in timber frame design, with a strong portfolio of completed projects

  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar

  • Strong understanding of timber construction methods, building codes, and regulations

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Knowledge of sustainable building practices is a plus
