Established in 2016, STA Assure is designed around an independent audit process that examines the activity of manufacturing members like ourselves, which are supplying structural timber systems into the UK construction market.
It provides firm reassurances to the construction community that STA members meet or exceed current legislation and regulatory requirements. Recognised by clients, contractors, developers and warranty providers, STA Assure ensures that we remain at the forefront of changes to quality and standards.
Kirkwood Timber Frame is audited annually by an independent third party, to check (amongst many other things) that:
- The STA Site Safe registration scheme is being followed
- The erectors being used have passed the STA Installer Training scheme
- Components provided by members are appropriate marked to demonstrate conformity compliance
New for 2025, is the requirement within the scheme for members to demonstrate that they are providing only structural timber elements that:
- Are compliant with the tested solutions contained in Structural timber buildings fire safety in use. Volume 1 - Pattern Book systems
- Have been assessed by a UKAS laboratory as being suitable and fit for purpose
- Have been tested to EN1365-1 2012 (this can be done by either manufacturer or another party in the project team or product supply chain)
- Have been designed and checked for acceptance adopting EN1995-2 -2009 and checked against prEN1995-2 2023 or latest edition
- Show recognition of the Code for Construction Product Information and compliance with the requirements of the ‘Golden Thread’, consistent with the needs of the Building Safety Act 2022.
